One hot sunny Friday afternoon, the kids and I went to the Empire Mine State Park. Totally amazing - we got to go inside a mine and see the many historic buildings from when the mine was in production as well as see where the family lived that owned the mine. The kids got to sit on a mining slip (what the miners rode to get into the mine).
