Gavin's Basketball Tournament ...

Well, there was supposed to be a tournament, a competition . . . but when we arrived at the game, the others teams had forfeited . . . but the team showed off their individual skills - each of them got to compete in the free shot competition, three point competition and slam dunk . . . Gavin made 17 shots in 2 minutes (granted, he got closer to the basket with every shot :-)Gavin with his first basketball medal
A much needed water break!
Oh yeah!
Ready, aim, shoot . . .
Look at that face - precious!

18 years old . . .

Happy 18th Kayle!
All 6 feet and 3 inches of Kayle turned 18!
Seniors in high school still enjoy a pinata!
And swimming in the ocean . . .
Precious moments with Brooke & G - the cards they made him
SURPRISE KAYLE!!!
We had a surprise party for Kayle at the beach and invited his friends - amazingly he didn't find out until just before and texted me "I'm suspicious..." "About what?" I wrote back :-)

And there it sits . . .

. . . unopened, on the counter . . . as if leaving it there means it's not really almost that time
Kayle's graduation cap, gown, stole & tassel
Kayle, the going-against-the-grain dramatic. . .
Kayle, the respectable and lovable
Kayle, the handsome
Kayle, the thinker

...and oh yeah - he'll be eighteen next week!

It's birthday time again . . .

The night before a big snowstorm in Colorado Springs, this precious boy came into the world and became an even bigger part of our lives . . .
Our precious Gavin
Our goofy Gavin
Our excited and very happy Gavin!
Our studious, hardworking Gavin
Cupcakes for Gavin's class
Once again, our silly Gavin!
Oh yeah - two scoops of ice cream for my birthday sundae ... but no cherry on top!
Our greatful Gavin - "Thank you Nana & Papa!"
